Tulane

This festive fine stripe is celebratory like Mardi Gras, referenced as 'the greatest free show on earth.' A time to forget your cares; it's about colorful fun. Mardi Gras in New Orleans dates back to the 1700’s, and added carriages and masks about a century later. In 1892, Rex, the King of Carnival, selected the Mardi Gras colors and assigned meanings: purple stands for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. These colors are thought to have influenced the choice of school colors for arch rivals Louisiana State University and Tulane University.
