Project Overview

Gleneagles Hospital Johor Bahru is part of the regional Gleneagles healthcare network, serving private patients across Malaysia and the surrounding region with a comprehensive clinical specification. The hospital’s interior brief addresses the demanding combination of clinical hygiene requirements, patient-care comfort, and the visitor-facing environment that defines a private hospital’s brand experience.

Goodrich Global supplied digital printing wallcovering across designated patient-care and circulation areas.

Goodrich Specification

Digital print wallcovering in healthcare environments addresses three concurrent requirements: clinical compliance covering fire, VOC and chemical resistance; durability under demanding cleaning regimes; and the patient-experience value of nature-inspired or calming imagery. The Goodrich digital print specification supports custom imagery at architectural scale, typically landscape, abstracted natural patterns, or wayfinding-and-orientation imagery in patient-circulation zones, where a soothing, legible environment can ease anxiety and aid navigation.

The wipeable, sealed surface withstands the frequent disinfection healthcare hygiene protocols require, holding its finish where painted walls would mark and degrade, while resisting the moisture and humidity of the tropical climate. Bespoke imagery also lets the hospital reinforce its brand identity and humanise otherwise clinical spaces. Printed at architectural scale, the imagery can also support orientation and wayfinding across large floor plates, helping patients and visitors navigate an unfamiliar building with less stress. For Gleneagles, the wallcovering programme coordinated with the broader interior specification across patient-care zones, supporting the hospital’s brand standard while meeting healthcare-grade clinical requirements.

Project Outcome

The Gleneagles Hospital JB specification is in operational service. By satisfying clinical compliance, cleaning durability and the calming patient-experience brief at once, the wallcovering serves both the medical and the human dimensions of the facility. The project illustrates Goodrich’s capability to support major regional private healthcare facilities, with specifications that satisfy both the clinical brief and the patient-experience brief simultaneously.
