Residential
Dakota Crescent
Project Overview
This project was at Dakota Crescent in Singapore, where the scheme called for hard-wearing outdoor decking suited to the local climate. Outdoor surfaces here must withstand intense sun, frequent rain and high humidity year-round, all while remaining safe and attractive for everyday use.
Goodrich Global supplied geff Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) decking for the project.
Goodrich Specification
geff WPC decking was well suited to an outdoor application in Singapore because composite boards resist moisture, rot and insect damage far better than natural timber, making them ideal for a tropical climate of heavy rainfall and high humidity. The material is dimensionally stable and does not warp or splinter as solid wood can, and it avoids the sanding, staining and sealing that timber demands to stay sound.
WPC also delivers the warm, natural appearance of timber with much lower maintenance, holding its colour and finish under strong UV exposure rather than greying or bleaching over the seasons. The boards provide a slip-considered, durable walking surface that stays comfortable and presentable for everyday outdoor use, and their consistency from board to board gives a tidy, uniform finish that needs little ongoing attention. Many composite boards are also formed with reversible or grooved profiles and concealed fixings, allowing a clean, fastener-free surface that stays comfortable underfoot and easy to keep clear of debris.
Project Outcome
The decking provides a good-looking, low-maintenance outdoor surface built to last in Singapore’s weather, with none of the seasonal upkeep that natural timber would demand, and a comfortable, stable surface for everyday use. Choosing a composite over solid wood means the deck keeps its colour and integrity year after year, sparing the owners the cycle of sanding, sealing and board replacement that timber decking inevitably requires. Goodrich Global supplies WPC and composite outdoor decking for residential and commercial landscapes across the region, engineered for tropical conditions.
