Harlequin Signature: Wallpaper Murals and Fabrics in Singapore

Share

Harlequin Signature is a new collection of wallpapers and fabrics that revisits some of the British studio’s most-loved archive designs and gives them a fresh start. Familiar motifs return in new colourways, refined scales and new material bases, and for the first time Harlequin has introduced super wide-width wallpaper murals. Goodrich Global now offers Signature wallpapers and fabrics in Singapore.

What Is Harlequin Signature?

Signature is a contemporary reinterpretation of the Harlequin archive. Rather than starting from a blank page, the design studio went back to designs its customers already love and updated them for today’s interiors. The aim, in Harlequin’s words, is a collection that feels familiar yet original while keeping the charm of the original pieces.

Every new wallpaper and fabric is engineered to work with Harlequin’s existing ranges, which makes Signature a strong starting point for a layered scheme: a mural on one wall, a coordinating fabric at the window and a textured weave on the sofa.

Super Wide-Width Murals: A First for Harlequin

The headline of the collection is its super wide-width murals, created for large residential and commercial spaces. The designs reported for the range include:

  • Flores: an overblown watercolour floral, adapted from the Signature fabric collection.
  • Grounded: an oversized, dreamy eucalyptus motif in a soft, muted palette.
  • Minako: an abstract design of overlapping inkwork, first developed as a Harlequin fabric and reworked at full mural scale.

Wider panels mean fewer seams across a wall, so the artwork reads as one continuous picture. That suits feature walls in living and dining rooms, bedrooms with a full headboard wall, and commercial spaces such as hotel lobbies, restaurants and reception areas where the wall is the first thing guests see.

Signature Fabrics

The fabric side of Signature focuses on texture. It includes drapery and upholstery fabrics that use mixed weave techniques, so pattern and surface interest come from the construction of the cloth as well as its colour. As with the wallpapers, each design has been chosen to pair with existing Harlequin collections.

Use the softer drapery fabrics for curtains and Roman blinds, and the heavier weaves for sofas, armchairs and headboards. See all designs on the Signature fabrics page.

How to Plan a Mural Wall

A wallpaper mural is a bigger design statement than a repeating pattern, so a little planning helps:

  • Choose the right wall: pick the wall you see first when you enter, such as behind a sofa, a bed or a dining table. Avoid walls broken up by many doors or windows.
  • Measure carefully: murals are sized to a wall, so give your supplier accurate width and height measurements, including any skirting or ceiling cornice.
  • Keep the rest of the room calm: pick one or two colours from the mural for cushions, curtains or upholstery and keep other surfaces quieter.
  • Use professional installers: mural panels must be aligned precisely. In Singapore’s humid climate, good wall preparation and the right adhesive also help the wallpaper last.

Ideas for Using Signature

Living and dining rooms

A Flores or Grounded mural behind a dining table turns an everyday space into a garden room. Pick out a leaf green or soft blush for dining chair upholstery.

Bedrooms

A calm, inky Minako wall behind the bed creates a gallery-like headboard wall. Pair it with plain or textured Signature fabrics for curtains.

Hospitality and commercial spaces

The wide-width murals were designed with large commercial spaces in mind. In hotel lobbies, lounges and restaurants, a single mural can define the look of the room, with coordinating fabrics carried through seating and drapery.
