Hotel
Hotel @ Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Project Overview
This project involved a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia — a hospitality environment where interior surfaces must balance guest comfort with the durability demanded by continuous occupancy. As a hotel interior, the scheme called for finishes that read as refined while withstanding the wear of high-traffic public and guest areas around the clock.
Goodrich Global supplied wallcovering for the project, contributing the wall finishes that frame the hotel’s interior atmosphere.
Goodrich Specification
The specification centred on commercial-grade wallcovering, a category well suited to hospitality interiors because it offers consistent colour, pattern repeatability across large wall runs, and a hard-wearing surface that resists scuffing, trolley contact, and routine cleaning. In a hotel setting, wallcovering lets designers carry a cohesive look across corridors, lobbies, and rooms while meeting the practical maintenance needs of an operating property. Its backed construction also forgives minor substrate imperfections that paint would expose, and it can be wiped down without the patch-repainting that paint finishes demand. In corridors and lift lobbies, where trolleys, luggage, and shoulder contact concentrate wear at handrail and skirting height, that resilience translates directly into longer intervals between refurbishment and a more consistent guest impression.
By drawing on Goodrich Global’s wallcovering range, the project secured materials engineered for commercial longevity rather than domestic use — an important distinction for a building that must look presentable through years of uninterrupted service.
Project Outcome
The completed wallcovering installation gives the Kuala Lumpur hotel a durable, visually consistent backdrop that supports its hospitality positioning. Goodrich Global’s regional presence across Southeast Asia means hotels and resorts throughout Malaysia can be specified and serviced with commercial wallcovering suited to demanding hospitality applications, with reordering kept straightforward across a property’s refurbishment cycles.
