Project Overview

Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore’s flagship national attractions, drawing very high visitor numbers to its conservatories, function rooms and event spaces. Interior areas within such a landmark must reconcile two competing demands: a welcoming, design-led finish and the resilience that relentless public footfall imposes day after day.

For this project, Goodrich Global supplied carpet and roller blinds for the interior spaces.

Goodrich Specification

Carpet was specified to deliver underfoot comfort, acoustic softening and a hospitable atmosphere in spaces used for events and gatherings, where a heavy-duty commercial construction stands up to constant visitor traffic. A dense, soil-hiding pile and stain-resistant fibre keep the floor presentable between cleaning cycles, while the textile surface absorbs the reverberation that hard finishes generate in busy gathering rooms. This acoustic softening is valuable in event spaces where speech clarity and a comfortable sound level matter to the guest experience.

Roller blinds were supplied to manage daylight and glare, an important consideration in a glass-rich attraction where controlling solar gain and sightlines supports both comfort and the visitor experience. The blinds temper heat load through extensive glazing and shield interior finishes from ultraviolet fade, helping maintain comfortable conditions in Singapore’s tropical climate. A roller system is also unobtrusive when retracted, preserving the open views that define the attraction, and can be operated quickly as light conditions change through the day.

Project Outcome

Together the carpet and blinds help create comfortable, well-managed interior spaces capable of absorbing large crowds while looking the part for a premier destination. The pairing balances durability, acoustic quality and environmental control across event-facing areas. Goodrich Global supplies carpet and window-furnishing solutions to landmark and public venues across Singapore, pairing durability with design at scale.
