Project Overview

The Asian Women’s Welfare Association (AWWA) is a long-established Singapore social service organisation whose facilities support care, rehabilitation and community programmes. Floors in such settings must be safe, hygienic and comfortable for users of differing mobility and for staff who spend long hours on their feet.

For this project, Goodrich Global supplied flooring for the facility.

Goodrich Specification

Flooring was specified to provide a durable, easy-to-clean surface suited to a care and community environment where hygiene and slip resistance are paramount. A resilient commercial floor copes with wheeled equipment, frequent cleaning and continuous traffic, while offering a calm, welcoming appearance appropriate to a space serving vulnerable users.

In care settings the floor also supports infection-control routines, tolerating regular disinfection without degrading, while a stable, even surface and considered slip rating help reduce the risk of falls. A warm, low-glare finish keeps the environment reassuring rather than clinical, which matters in spaces used for rehabilitation and day programmes. Underfoot comfort also reduces fatigue for staff who stand and walk throughout long shifts, while a cushioned resilient surface can soften the impact of an accidental fall.

Project Outcome

The completed flooring supports a safe, accessible and easily maintained environment aligned with AWWA’s care mission. It balances cleanability, comfort and durability across areas of differing function and traffic, supporting both users and the staff who care for them. A coordinated, low-maintenance finish also helps the organisation keep running costs predictable over the floor’s service life. Goodrich Global supplies flooring to healthcare, institutional and community facilities across Singapore, with systems engineered for hygiene, durability and underfoot performance.
