National University of Singapore Staff Club, Singapore
Project Overview
The National University of Singapore Staff Club is a social and recreational facility within one of the region’s leading universities, where the interior required comfortable, hard-wearing flooring for a frequently used communal space. As a setting for relaxation and gathering, it called for a floor that felt welcoming yet stood up to constant use across the working week.
Goodrich Global supplied carpet for the project, specifying soft flooring suited to a busy institutional club environment.
Goodrich Specification
Carpet was chosen here for its acoustic and comfort contribution to a shared social space. Underfoot it softens footfall and absorbs the ambient noise that builds when many members use the club at once, helping create the relaxed, convivial atmosphere a staff club is meant to offer and keeping conversation comfortable across the room throughout the day.
A commercial-grade carpet construction provides the wear and crush resistance required of a continuously used facility, holding its pile through sustained traffic rather than flattening in the main routes. Patterned and textured surfaces help disguise everyday soiling between cleaning cycles, keeping the space looking presentable over a long service life and reducing the frequency of disruptive deep cleans or replacement in an amenity that stays open to members for much of the week. Warm tones and a tactile pile also help the club feel informal and inviting rather than institutional, encouraging members to linger.
Project Outcome
The carpet underpins a comfortable, acoustically softer environment at the NUS Staff Club, supporting its role as a relaxed social hub where staff can unwind. Goodrich Global supplies carpet to institutional and recreational facilities across Singapore, aligning durability, comfort and acoustic performance with each venue’s daily use.
