Project Overview
The Singapore Indoor Stadium is one of the country’s principal arenas for concerts, sporting events and major public functions. Flooring in such a venue faces exceptional footfall and must combine resilience with a presentable finish across concourses and event areas.
For this project, Goodrich Global supplied Tuntex carpet tiles for the stadium.
Goodrich Specification
Tuntex carpet tiles were specified for their heavy-duty construction, suited to the intense, peaked traffic that a large arena experiences during events when thousands of visitors arrive and disperse within tight windows. A dense, robust pile resists crushing and soiling at the choke points around entrances and concourses where wear concentrates.
Carpet tiles offer a practical advantage in high-use venues because individual tiles can be lifted and replaced where wear or staining occurs, keeping maintenance efficient and avoiding venue-wide closures. The carpet surface also softens noise and underfoot impact across busy circulation areas, adding comfort and helping manage the acoustic environment of large public spaces. A soil-hiding construction and resilient fibre keep concourses looking presentable between the surges of activity that events bring, while the tile format lets the venue stock matching spares for quick, like-for-like repairs. Colour and pattern can additionally be used to guide visitors and define zones, an asset when thousands of people need to move through the venue quickly and safely.
Project Outcome
The carpet tiles deliver a durable, easily maintained floor that copes with the demands of a flagship event venue, with tile-level repair keeping it presentable between events and minimising downtime.
