Project Overview

The IKEA store at Mega Bangna is a large-format home furnishings retailer in Bangkok, Thailand, where vast trading floors and room-set displays see continuous customer movement from opening to close. The flooring specification had to combine an approachable, home-like aesthetic with the hard-wearing performance such a destination demands.

Goodrich Global supplied the flooring for this project, specifically Parador Classic laminate.

Goodrich Specification

Parador Classic laminate was selected for its convincing timber appearance and its robust, abrasion-resistant wear layer, a pairing ideally matched to a high-volume retail floor. The decorative surface reproduces natural wood realistically, supporting the domestic atmosphere the brand’s displays depend on, while the protective top layer shields against scuffing from trolleys, footwear and the dragging of display furniture.

Laminate of this calibre delivers consistent looks across very large areas, installs efficiently to keep demanding fit-out programmes on track, and tolerates relentless traffic. A dense, stable core resists indentation under sustained loading, and the click-lock format lets damaged boards be replaced individually rather than re-laying whole sections. Ongoing maintenance stays simple, with routine sweeping and damp cleaning enough to keep the floor presentable, an important consideration over thousands of square metres.

Project Outcome

The result is a floor that feels warm and domestic, in keeping with the brand’s room-set merchandising, yet performs to a tough commercial standard across the store’s expansive layout. Its durability supports a long service life with minimal disruption to trading, helping the retailer maintain a consistent customer experience.

Goodrich Global serves large-format retail and commercial clients across Thailand with laminate and engineered flooring chosen for durability, value and visual consistency, supported by specification guidance for high-traffic environments.
