Roller Blinds at Waterview Room, Gardens By The Bay image-1
Project Overview
This project fitted roller blinds in the Waterview Room at Gardens by the Bay, one of Singapore’s flagship horticultural and event attractions. As a function and event space, the room required window treatments that could manage daylight and glare while keeping sightlines to the gardens and waterfront intact, since the view is one of the room’s principal assets.
Goodrich Global supplied the fabric for the roller blinds used in the project.
Goodrich Specification
Roller blind fabric was specified to give the venue precise control over natural light, reducing glare for presentations and events while moderating solar heat gain through large glazed elevations, an important consideration in Singapore’s strong, year-round sunlight. The right fabric weave lets the operator balance privacy, view retention and light filtration, softening harsh light without closing off the signature outlook over the water.
Engineered window fabrics also offer durability and dimensional stability for repeated operation in a high-use public venue, resisting stretch and distortion so the blinds track evenly and hold their finish despite frequent raising and lowering across back-to-back events. A stable, easy-care fabric keeps the room presentable with minimal intervention between functions, and a screen-style weave can also temper heat and ultraviolet exposure to protect furnishings and keep occupants comfortable. Because the room hosts everything from bright daytime functions to evening presentations, a fabric that can be tuned across that range gives the operator real flexibility without ever sacrificing the outlook that makes the space special.
Project Outcome
The blinds gave the Waterview Room flexible, comfortable lighting control suited to varied event needs. Goodrich Global supplies fabrics for blinds, curtains and upholstery across Singapore, supporting commercial and hospitality venues with solutions tailored to light, climate and function.
