Project Overview

Singapore General Hospital is the country’s largest and oldest acute tertiary hospital, operating clinical and care areas under stringent hygiene and safety requirements. Flooring across such an institution must support infection control, withstand intensive use and provide a safe surface for patients, staff and the equipment that moves through it continuously.

For this project, Goodrich Global supplied Medintech Plus and Simpurity vinyl flooring from Armstrong Flooring.

Goodrich Specification

Medintech Plus and Simpurity were specified as healthcare-grade vinyls engineered for clinical environments. Both offer hygienic, low-maintenance surfaces that can be welded and sealed against liquid ingress, leaving minimal seams where contaminants might gather and supporting the hospital’s infection-control regime across wards and treatment areas.

Their dense construction tolerates the rigorous cleaning and disinfection a hospital requires, while the durability handles wheeled trolleys, beds and continuous foot traffic without indenting or wearing through. Slip-resistant performance further safeguards patients and staff across busy circulation areas, and the calm, consistent finish presents an appearance appropriate to a care setting.

Project Outcome

The flooring contributes to clean, safe and hard-wearing clinical spaces aligned with the hospital’s exacting standards, helping maintain hygienic conditions across high-dependency areas throughout demanding daily operation. Its long service life supports the institution’s value-for-money objectives by reducing the frequency of replacement in critical zones.

Goodrich Global supplies healthcare flooring to hospitals and medical facilities across Singapore, with systems selected for hygiene, durability and infection-control performance, backed by specification guidance for clinical applications.
