A New Project Reference-Educational Institution-ITE, Singapore
Project Overview
The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is one of Singapore’s principal post-secondary education providers, and this project supplied flooring to one of its institutional learning environments. Educational settings demand surfaces that withstand intensive daily use by large numbers of students and staff, day in and day out across the academic year.
For this institution, Goodrich Global supplied Premierfloor Interlace, Premierfloor Element and Goodfloor Pandora.
Goodrich Specification
The three carpet tile ranges were combined to suit different spaces across the campus, allowing teaching rooms, circulation areas and shared zones to be differentiated through tone and texture while sharing a robust, hardwearing specification. Each range delivers the abrasion resistance and colourfastness needed to cope with relentless student footfall without showing premature wear, an essential quality where hundreds of students move through the same routes each day.
As modular tiles, Interlace, Element and Pandora support efficient installation across large floor areas and contribute acoustic absorption that benefits learning environments, calming the reverberation that builds in busy corridors and rooms and supporting clearer speech in teaching spaces. Crucially, individual tiles can be replaced where wear or staining concentrates, such as doorways and high-traffic junctions, keeping maintenance manageable and cost-effective for a high-occupancy institution rather than requiring whole areas to be re-laid.
Using coordinated ranges across the campus also helps with stock and replacement planning, simplifying long-term upkeep across an extensive facility.
Project Outcome
The campus gained durable, acoustically considered floors built for the rigours of daily education, with each zone finished to suit its function. By combining wearability, acoustic comfort and tile-by-tile serviceability, the flooring is well matched to the long, demanding service life an institutional campus expects.
