Church Room, Singapore

Project Overview

This project involved the fit-out of a church room in Singapore, a community gathering space where the floor must support frequent congregational use, flexible seating arrangements and regular foot traffic across worship, fellowship and activity programmes through the week.

Goodrich Global supplied Premierfloor Arctic carpet tiles for the room, delivering a comfortable, acoustically considerate floor finish suited to a high-occupancy assembly setting.

Goodrich Specification

Premierfloor Arctic carpet tiles were specified for their durability under repeated foot traffic and the practical advantages of modular tiles in a busy communal environment. The tile format allows individual sections to be lifted and replaced should localised wear or soiling occur, simplifying long-term maintenance without re-laying the entire floor or closing the space for extended periods, which matters where a venue is in near-constant use across the week.

Carpet also contributes to a calmer acoustic environment by absorbing footfall and reducing reverberation, which is particularly valuable in an assembly room where amplified speech and music must remain clear and intelligible to a large gathering. A softer floor surface tames the echo that hard finishes can create in a high-ceilinged hall, supporting more comfortable listening and a more contemplative atmosphere during services and gatherings. The carpet’s warmth and underfoot comfort further suit a space where people may sit, kneel or stand for extended periods.

Project Outcome

The completed room offers a warm, hard-wearing floor that comfortably accommodates congregation activity while keeping ongoing upkeep straightforward. By pairing acoustic absorption with the serviceability of modular tiles, the flooring supports both the clarity of worship and the practical realities of a space used throughout the week. Goodrich Global supplies commercial-grade carpet solutions engineered for the demands of assembly, institutional and community spaces across Singapore.
