Shama Hotel, Bangkok
Project Overview
Shama Hotel is a hospitality property in Bangkok, Thailand, completed in April 2019 with interiors by ASC Interior. As a serviced hotel, its spaces required durable, comfortable flooring that could carry a consistent design language across guest and common areas through extended stays and high occupancy.
Goodrich Global supplied the carpet tiles used in this project.
Goodrich Specification
The interior was fitted with Voxflor Custom XQS carpet tiles in two coordinated colourways: DY1807060-02 Grey and DY1807060-01 Green. Carpet tiles are ideal for a working hotel, offering easy installation, simple replacement of individual tiles in high-wear zones and strong acoustic performance that softens corridor and circulation noise during extended occupancy.
The custom grey and green palette allowed the design to introduce both a neutral base and an accent tone, defining different areas while maintaining a unified look across the property. Modular tiles also reduce material waste during fitting and let housekeeping address localised staining without relaying entire rooms, an efficiency that matters in a serviced property operating year-round with constant guest movement. A carpet surface additionally dampens impact and footfall, contributing to the restful, residential feel that distinguishes a serviced stay from a conventional hotel room and supports guest comfort over longer visits.
Project Outcome
The hotel achieved a durable, easily maintained floor with a tailored colour scheme that reinforces its interior identity. The bespoke colourways tie the scheme together while the tile format keeps long-term upkeep practical, allowing the property to refresh worn areas without relaying entire floors. The two-tone palette also gives the interior a considered, hospitality-grade identity.
