Project Overview

Teledirect operates customer-engagement and contact-centre services from offices in Singapore, where large open-plan floors house teams working in close proximity throughout the day. The workplace fit-out required a floor finish suited to sustained foot traffic and the acoustic demands of a busy operations environment.

For this office, Goodrich Global supplied carpet for the workplace floors.

Goodrich Specification

Carpet was specified for the Teledirect office to soften ambient noise across densely occupied floors, an important consideration in a contact-centre setting where many staff speak on calls simultaneously. The pile absorbs sound and reduces reverberation, curbing the build-up of background noise that can otherwise make a busy operations floor tiring to work on and harder to hear calls clearly. A commercial-grade carpet also provides resilient underfoot comfort and a hard-wearing surface that copes with the constant movement of a working office while presenting a clean, professional finish.

Where the carpet is supplied in tile format, individual sections can be lifted and replaced as wear dictates, keeping long-term maintenance practical and contained across a large, intensively used floorplate. This combination of acoustic performance, durability and easy upkeep makes carpet a dependable choice for a high-occupancy contact-centre environment.

Specifying carpet from a broad contract range also gave the design team scope to match colour and pattern to the office interior, achieving a coordinated, professional appearance across a large operational floorplate.

Project Outcome

The flooring contributes to a quieter, more comfortable working environment that supports staff concentration and productivity across long operational shifts. The acoustic benefit is felt directly in a setting where clear, uninterrupted calls matter. Goodrich Global supplies commercial carpet and carpet tiles to offices throughout Singapore, helping workplace designers manage acoustics, traffic and aesthetics within a single specification.
