Project Overview

Mandai is Singapore’s integrated nature and wildlife precinct, home to the Singapore Zoo and the nature-immersed Mandai Rainforest Resort. Visitor-facing destinations of this kind sit firmly in the hospitality specification category: guest-facing interiors must deliver immersive, themed storytelling while withstanding the very high footfall of a major public attraction.

Goodrich Global supplied digital print wallpapers and axminster carpets across the Mandai Zoo and Mandai Resort interiors.

Goodrich Specification

Digital print wallpapers were specified to carry large-format, custom imagery that reinforces the precinct’s nature and wildlife narrative. Digitally printed wallcovering allows bespoke artwork to be reproduced at architectural scale, turning corridors, feature walls, and themed zones into part of the visitor experience rather than neutral backdrops, while the commercial-grade substrate and fire-compliant construction handle the wear and regulatory demands of a high-traffic attraction.

Axminster carpet was specified for hospitality and guest-facing interiors where a premium underfoot finish and acoustic comfort are expected. Woven axminster construction carries custom patterning for brand and theming, integrating with the digital-print storytelling, while its dense, durable pile handles sustained public footfall and resists crush and tracking across the service life hospitality capital programmes require. The woven backing anchors the tufts mechanically, which is what allows axminster to hold its appearance at attraction-level traffic where lighter constructions would flatten and shed.

Project Outcome

The Mandai specification pairs bespoke digitally printed wallcovering with woven axminster carpet to deliver an immersive, durable visitor environment. The project demonstrates Goodrich Global’s capability to coordinate custom digital print and woven carpet across a large nature-and-hospitality destination, supporting both the theming and the operational durability such attractions demand.
