Highgrove by Sanderson Wools: Wool Upholstery Fabrics in Singapore
Highgrove by Sanderson Wools is a new Autumn/Winter 2026 range of textural drapery and upholstery fabrics, developed in partnership with The King’s Foundation, the charity that cares for Highgrove Gardens. It builds on last year’s Highgrove by Sanderson launch with wool checks, herringbones, pinstripes and plaids, several of them woven in the Scottish Borders. Goodrich Global now offers the collection in Singapore.
Wool may not be the first fibre that comes to mind in the tropics, but in air-conditioned homes, offices and hotels it is one of the most durable and comfortable choices for upholstery. This guide explains what is in the range and where it works best.
About the Highgrove by Sanderson Collaboration
Sanderson, founded in 1860, has held a Royal Warrant since 1924 for supplying fabrics, paint and wallcoverings to the Royal Residences. The Highgrove partnership links the brand with The King’s Foundation, King Charles III’s nature and sustainability charity, which acts as custodian of the gardens at Highgrove. The gardens have been shaped by The King’s artistic vision over 40 years and are managed organically.
Sanderson’s Head of Design, Rebecca Craig, describes the wool range as a contemporary complement to the brand’s plaids and checks that stays rooted in its heritage and craftsmanship. The constructions range from fine, intricate weaves to chunkier, more expressive yarns, and every design is coloured to layer with the original Highgrove by Sanderson fabrics and the wider Sanderson portfolio.
The Designs in the Collection
- Brantwood Wool: the standout design, inspired by The King’s carpet garden at Highgrove. Its intricate, tapestry-like weave evokes a traditional Turkish rug. 84% wool.
- Cotswold Check: an abstract block check with a contrasting horizontal wool yarn that looks almost hand-stitched, a modern nod to Scottish blanket designs.
- Eldridge Herringbone: a 100% wool pinstripe with ombré-shaded vertical bands on a classic herringbone, woven at Thistle Mills in the Scottish Borders.
- Hareford Wool: a 100% wool plaid that mixes mélange yarns and houndstooth scales, nodding to Savile Row tailoring. Also woven at Thistle Mills.
- Littlecombe Wool: a small-scale marbled herringbone with subtly raised yarns. It is railroaded, so it can run along a long sofa without seams.
- Mayford Wool: a refined, soft pinstripe with tonal vertical bands that sits easily alongside the rest of the range.
- Tavistone Wool: a wool-linen check with a watercolour-like effect that echoes The King’s passion for painting.
- Milton: an independent but complementary eight-over tartan in a wool blend, offered in five traditional colourways.

Every design is rated for both domestic and contract upholstery and drapery. See all colourways on the Highgrove Wools fabrics page.
Why Choose Wool Upholstery in Singapore?
Wool is a renewable fibre with properties that suit interiors well, including in a warm climate where most rooms are air-conditioned:
- Durability: wool fibres are naturally resilient and spring back after compression, so wool upholstery keeps its shape on sofas and dining chairs.
- Comfort: wool regulates temperature and handles moisture well, so it feels comfortable against the skin in both cool air-conditioned rooms and warmer spaces.
- Natural resistance: wool is naturally slow to soil and less flammable than many synthetic fibres.
- Character: checks, herringbones and plaids woven in wool have a depth and texture that flat prints cannot match.

Where Highgrove Wools Works Best
Homes
A herringbone or pinstripe such as Littlecombe or Mayford makes a smart, hard-wearing sofa or headboard. Brantwood or Hareford adds pattern to an accent chair or ottoman, and Cotswold Check or Tavistone works as a Roman blind or curtain in a study or bedroom.
Hospitality and offices
Because the designs carry contract ratings, they suit club lounges, private dining rooms, boutique hotels and executive offices that want a heritage British look. A tailored wool on banquettes, booths or boardroom chairs feels warm and residential while standing up to regular use.
Mixing with other Sanderson fabrics
The collection was coloured to layer with the original Highgrove by Sanderson range and the wider Sanderson portfolio, so it pairs easily with Sanderson florals for curtains or cushions.
Caring for Wool Upholstery
Vacuum wool upholstery regularly with a soft brush attachment to lift dust. Blot spills straight away with a clean, dry cloth rather than rubbing, and use professional upholstery cleaning for deeper stains. Rotate cushions to spread wear evenly, and keep fabrics out of strong direct sunlight to protect the colours. Check the care guide for each design before cleaning.
