Hospital flooring specification operates at one of the most regulated intersections in commercial flooring — clinical compliance, slip-and-fall liability, infection-control protocol compatibility, and the day-to-day operational continuity hospital facilities demand.
Goodrich Specification
Armstrong Medintech Plus vinyl flooring was specified across designated clinical and circulation zones. Medintech Plus combines Diamond 10 antimicrobial coating (anti-bacterial, anti-fungal), excellent chemical resistance (compatible with bleach-based and quaternary-ammonium cleaning regimes), and the colour fastness clinical environments require for sustained appearance over their service life. Its homogeneous construction wears evenly and can be heat-welded into a continuous, easily sanitised surface that resists the ingress of fluids and contaminants.
That homogeneous build also means the colour and pattern run through the full thickness, so the floor keeps its appearance as the surface wears rather than revealing a worn backing. Coved detailing at wall junctions removes the crevices where pathogens collect, and the slip-resistant face supports safe movement in wet-prone clinical zones. The flooring specification was complemented by appropriate wall protection in trolley-and-equipment-impact zones and clinical-grade wallcovering in patient-care areas, completing the surface envelope for the hospital interior and protecting walls from the constant movement of beds and equipment.
