Project Overview

The Island Shangri-La is a luxury hotel in Admiralty, Hong Kong, occupying the upper floors of Pacific Place and known for its grand, art-filled interiors. A property of this stature requires floor and wall finishes that together convey opulence while performing under continuous, high-end use.

Goodrich Global supplied carpet and wallcovering for this project.

Goodrich Specification

The specification combined carpet and wallcovering from Goodrich Global’s portfolios. Luxury hospitality carpet brings underfoot comfort, acoustic softness and a rich visual base to guest rooms and corridors, while premium wallcovering adds texture and depth to feature walls and public areas. Together they create a coordinated, durable scheme befitting a five-star hotel.

Dense carpet pile absorbs footfall and noise across guest floors, and textured wallcoverings catch light to add depth to grand public spaces, with both selected to withstand the heavy use a landmark hotel sees. Specifying floor and wall finishes in tandem allowed the design team to control how colour, texture and tone work together across the interior, ensuring a seamless, layered effect throughout the property’s many guest and public spaces.

Project Outcome

The result is an integrated, luxurious interior in which floors and walls reinforce the property’s prestige. The coordinated palette delivers a cohesive, layered atmosphere across the hotel’s expansive guest and public areas, with both elements selected to perform under continuous high-end use while sustaining the opulent character the property is known for.

Goodrich Global’s combined carpet and wallcovering capability allows designers to specify complementary finishes from a single source for landmark hospitality projects across Hong Kong.
