Mondrian Hotel – Wardrobe Backdrop, Singapore

Mondrian is a design-forward lifestyle hotel brand, and this project applied a custom wardrobe backdrop within its Singapore property. Even within guestroom joinery, the brand’s attention to detail extends to surfaces that elevate the everyday and reward a closer look, treating each fitting as part of the guest experience.

Custom digital print wallcovering allowed a bespoke design to line the wardrobe backdrop, introducing a refined, branded detail into the guestroom. The format gives designers freedom to specify original artwork at the exact scale required for joinery applications, where standard wallpaper widths and repeats can be awkward to accommodate within a confined opening.
The printed surface is hardwearing and easy to wipe clean, suited to frequent guest handling as the wardrobe is opened and used throughout a stay. It retains its colour and detail across the property’s operational life, holding up well in Singapore’s humid environment where lesser finishes can fade, bubble or lift at the edges. Its durable face resists scuffing from hangers and luggage, and sizing the print to the joinery ensures a precise, seamless fit within the wardrobe opening, with the design meeting each edge cleanly.
