Project Overview

Nexus International School Singapore is one of the city-state’s established international schools, serving expatriate and Singaporean families across primary and secondary years. International school interiors operate at the intersection of education-grade durability, hospitality-grade visual quality, where parent-facing tours and open-house events shape recruitment, and increasingly stringent IAQ and chemical-content specifications driven by parent-customer expectations.

Goodrich Global supplied flooring across designated teaching and circulation areas of the campus.

Goodrich Specification

The flooring specification at Nexus International combined classroom-grade carpet tile with vinyl flooring in transition and shared zones. The carpet tile provides acoustic absorption that supports the concentration-and-collaboration teaching formats common in international classrooms, and its modular format allows individual tiles to be lifted and replaced under localised wear without recarpeting a whole room. The vinyl was chosen for high-traffic and spill-prone areas requiring water resistance, slip safety and easy maintenance underfoot. SGBC-certified product across the specification supports the school’s broader sustainability documentation.

The specification considered chemical-content profile for student-population safety and indoor-air-quality compatibility, increasingly part of international school procurement specifications post-pandemic and aligned with the WELL Building Standard expectations international schools are progressively adopting as part of their duty of care to pupils and staff.

Drawing both flooring categories from one supplier also simplified the school’s documentation, giving the procurement team a single point of reference for certification, performance data and ongoing replacement stock.

Project Outcome

The Nexus International School flooring specification is in operational service across the campus. The project illustrates Goodrich’s capability to support international school interiors with specifications that satisfy education-grade durability, parent-experience visual quality and student-safety chemical-content briefs within a single integrated specification, simplifying procurement for the school.
