NTU at Nanyang Drive Innovation Centre
Project Overview
The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Innovation Centre at Nanyang Drive is one of NTU’s research-and-translation facilities, supporting research collaborations, industry partnerships and innovation programmes. Innovation centre interiors operate at the intersection of research-grade functional requirements and external-stakeholder visitor experience: research teams use the space daily, while industry visitors and government delegations form impressions during tours and partnership meetings.
Goodrich Global supplied carpet tile and complementary specifications across the facility.
Goodrich Specification
Carpet tile was specified across collaboration zones, meeting rooms and circulation areas. The specification combines acoustic absorption, since collaboration spaces generate concentrated speech activity that benefits from controlled reverberation, with modular replaceability for the reconfiguration that innovation centres undergo as programmes evolve, and visual quality at research-and-industry grade. SGBC certification supports NTU’s broader sustainability programme.
The tiled format also eases access to under-floor services and allows worn or marked sections to be swapped without relaying whole areas, an advantage in a building that adapts frequently and keeps long-term maintenance both economical and low-disruption. The specification coordinates with NTU’s design language for innovation and research facilities, holding a consistent visual scheme across the building’s principal zones so the space reads as one coherent environment.
Project Outcome
The NTU Innovation Centre installation is in operational service, performing across both daily research use and higher-profile visits. The project illustrates Goodrich’s capability to support tertiary research and translation facilities, where specifications must satisfy both functional research requirements and external-visitor experience expectations, and where acoustic comfort, durability and presentation all carry weight in a single brief.
