Project Overview

Richmond Hotel is a hospitality property in Bangkok, Thailand, completed in April 2017. The project spanned two distinct environments within the hotel: its fitness centre and its guest rooms, each requiring a finish matched to its very different function and traffic profile.

Goodrich Global supplied the flooring and wallcovering used across these areas.

Goodrich Specification

The fitness centre was floored with Ergo Tile Guad rubber flooring, an ideal choice for a gym: its resilient, shock-absorbing surface protects subfloors and equipment, cushions impact, and offers slip resistance and easy cleaning in a high-activity setting. The dense rubber also dampens the noise and vibration of dropped weights, helping contain disturbance to surrounding spaces.

In the guest rooms, Widewall Visions WVA4723 wallcovering provided a durable, decorative wall finish that withstands daily contact while contributing a refined, hospitality-grade backdrop for guests. A wide-format wallcovering covers room walls efficiently with minimal seams and masks minor surface imperfections, keeping rooms presentable through continuous occupancy. A wipe-clean wall finish also withstands the contact and handling that guest rooms inevitably see, holding its appearance between refurbishments.

Project Outcome

The hotel achieved purpose-matched finishes throughout, with a hard-wearing rubber floor in its fitness facility and a polished wallcovering scheme in its rooms. Each material was specified to the demands of its space, from the impact-absorbing gym floor to the refined guest-room walls. This zone-by-zone approach lets a single property meet very different performance needs without compromise. Goodrich Global supplies both specialist flooring and contract wallcovering to hospitality clients across Thailand and the region, equipping operators to specify the right material for every space.
