Shield Leather on Private Yacht – Indonesia

Share

Project Overview

This project involved a private yacht in Indonesia, a hospitality-grade marine interior where surfaces face the combined challenges of confined luxury spaces, frequent contact and the demanding conditions of life on the water. Finishes for such an environment must look exceptional while resisting wear, moisture and intensive handling.

Goodrich Global supplied its Shield Leather for the project, providing a hard-wearing leather-look surface within the yacht’s interior.

Goodrich Specification

Goodrich Shield Leather was specified for its combination of luxurious appearance and practical resilience. As a durable, leather-effect surface material, it brings a refined, tactile finish appropriate to a premium yacht interior while offering the wipe-clean, hard-wearing performance such a setting demands. Its supple, leather-like surface lends warmth and a sense of craftsmanship to cabins and saloons, where guests expect a yacht to feel as considered as a fine hotel suite.

In the salt-laden, humid atmosphere of a marine cabin, the material resists moisture and cleaning agents far better than natural leather, holding its colour and supple feel against constant contact and the rigours of regular maintenance. It does not dry out, crack or stain in the way hide can, which makes it especially well suited to a vessel that may sit unused in heat and humidity between voyages. This durability suits walls, panelling and surfaces that must endure close, repeated handling in compact spaces without losing their high-end look.

By choosing Goodrich Global’s Shield Leather, the project secured a finish that delivers the visual warmth of leather alongside the toughness required of a marine hospitality environment.

Project Outcome

The Shield Leather installation gives the private yacht a sophisticated, resilient interior surface fit for a luxury marine setting. Goodrich Global supplies specialised wall and surface materials to hospitality and bespoke projects across Indonesia and the region.
