Teochew Paradise Restaurant at Ngee Ann City, Singapore
Project Overview
Teochew Paradise is a Chinese restaurant at Ngee Ann City, a landmark retail and dining destination on Singapore’s Orchard Road. The dining environment called for a floor finish that conveys warmth and refinement while enduring the rigours of busy food service throughout the day.
For this restaurant, Goodrich Global supplied Axminster Carpet.
Goodrich Specification
Axminster carpet suits a full-service restaurant where ambience and durability must go hand in hand. Its dense woven construction provides a rich, comfortable surface underfoot and helps absorb dining-room noise, softening the clatter of service and the hum of conversation to support a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere for guests. This acoustic comfort is especially valuable in a busy mall-based restaurant, where controlling sound levels does much to elevate the dining experience.
The intricate weave conceals soiling and traffic marks well, an important quality in a high-turnover dining setting where spills and constant movement are routine. Axminster’s capacity for custom patterning allowed the flooring to echo the restaurant’s identity and Teochew character, integrating the floor into the overall design rather than treating it as a neutral backdrop. Its tightly bound pile stands up to continuous footfall and frequent cleaning over a long service life, retaining colour and definition where lesser carpets would flatten and fade.
Project Outcome
The restaurant achieved an inviting, hardwearing interior that enhances the dining experience and reinforces its sense of occasion. The floor balances atmosphere with the practical demands of daily service, looking refined while quietly absorbing heavy use. By pairing acoustic warmth with a soiling-resistant, custom-patterned weave, the floor does quiet work in both the comfort and the upkeep of a high-turnover dining room. Goodrich Global supplies durable, characterful carpet to hospitality and food-and-beverage venues across Singapore, balancing atmosphere with commercial performance.
