The Chika collection of fabrics is a fusion of Japanese-euro-skandi design styles and influences. Chika offers fresh and versatile combinations for modern interiors, whilst retaining a relaxed feel, perfect for family homes.

The collection include ten printed cotton fabrics.
Samaya is an abstract painting of an oriental orchid. This watercolour floral print is available in four soft colourways and is suitable for curtains and upholstery.

Wisteria Blossom – This stylised version of Wisteria Blossom has been spontaneously painted with a loose, impressionistic style. It is suitable for upholstery and curtains and is available in four fresh colourways: linden/charcoal, berry/plum, aqua/lime and silver/apple.

Calico Birds – This monochromatic bird and foliage design was created using the resist technique and was inspired by leatherwork documents from the Sanderson archive. With its all-over coverage, it is a very versatile design that can be combined with other patterns and plains alike. It is suitable for curtains and upholstery and comes in three colourways.

Arberella is a trail of stylised Japanese flowers, created through sponged stencil work. It is available in four colourways and is suitable for upholstery and curtains.

Fretwork – This versatile geometric tile design was created using lino-cut and finished with a stippling effect. It is available in six colourways that work throughout the whole collection and is suitable for curtains and upholstery.

Willow Tree is a modern interpretation of a willow pattern toile. The simplicity of the design gives it a tranquil feel. Printed on crisp cotton, it is suitable for curtains and is available in three colourways.

Dawn Chorus is a simple silhouette design, depicting finches perched on branches. It was created by first stencilling and then sponging to soften the effect. It is available in two colourways and is suitable for both upholstery and curtains.

Washi – This adaptable, textured semi-plain was created using a resist dye technique. It is suitable for upholstery and curtains and comes in four organic colourways: slate, mineral blue, olive and linen.

Fabric from Amazilla Collection, Harlequin, Goodrich

Exotic tropical motifs in luxuriant colours

Harlequin Studio has produced Amazilia, a stunning collection of fabrics based on extravagant tropical motifs in magnificent colourways. Channelling the current trend for bringing the outdoors in, the atmospheric collection creates a feeling of both sanctuary and escapism.

The collection reflects the vision of Studio designer, Louise Collis, who explains her inspiration behind Amazilia:
“The initial idea began with research into fashion and interior trends; I noticed a pronounced tropical influence developing in fashion, with the use of exotic imagery and opulent hues, whilst in interiors there is a move to darker, sultry tones and more maximalist prints – large scale tropical flowers, stylised foliage and botanical references.”

The collection is a sophisticated designer-luxe collection of seven printed fabrics (four of which have been produced digitally), four weaves and a sumptuous spray-dyed velvet. Glamorous, graphic, with a hint of decadence, the motifs encapsulate the new trend towards the home as a welcoming, nurturing cocoon, enlivened by energizing pops of vibrant colour.

The prints characterise the collection, encompassing delicately depicted hummingbirds, botanically-drawn butterflies, fashionable feathers, glossy oversized leaves, flower-heads and seed pods bursting into fruit, a loosely-painted, artistic interpretation of vegetation, and etched elephants in a stately procession. They are complemented by ikat embroideries, trellis-style weaves and a stunning, mosaic-like tapestry weave depicting tessellated tulips.

‘Amazilia Velvets’ is a striking collection in its own right: a sturdy but sumptuous spray-dyed velvet, suitable for upholstery as well as drapes, the colour moves across the width, intense in the middle then fading and twisting towards the edges.

Amazilia’s evocative colour palette reflects the alluring nature of the collection: luscious hues accented with daring brights – the perfect combination to both awaken the senses and soothe the soul! It mingles flamingo with papaya; zest, cocoa and stone; peach, mango and olive; indigo and mustard; gooseberry and lagoon; plus hints of apple, raspberry, blueberry, loganberry, emerald and elephant.
